 The Dawson to Chetwynd Area Transmission Line (DCAT) project was a significant undertaking that involved the construction of a 74 km double circuit 230 kV steel pole and lattice steel tower transmission line. This crucial infrastructure connected the newly established Sundance Lake Substation, located approximately 19 km east of Chetwynd, with the upgraded Bear Mountain and Dawson Creek Substations in Dawson Creek, BC. Our involvement in this project was centered around ensuring the highest standards of quality through comprehensive management and audit services, alongside meticulous oversight of material and construction inspection processes.

The scope of our services encompassed a broad spectrum of quality management duties, including the implementation of rigorous transmission and substation construction audits. Our team was instrumental in reviewing and enhancing quality plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring every aspect of the project adhered to the strictest quality standards. We conducted thorough substation inspections, and our QA/QC teams were dedicated to scrutinizing every detail of the steel pole assembly and erection, as well as the lattice tower assembly and erection, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with design specifications.

Moreover, our commitment to quality extended to the very foundations of the project, with our team conducting detailed inspections to guarantee their resilience and durability. Our engineering and construction support services were pivotal in maintaining project momentum and efficiency, addressing any challenges that arose during the construction phase.

Our international reach was demonstrated through the steel pole prototype inspection conducted in China and the lattice steel tower prototype inspection in Mexico, ensuring that the manufacturing processes met our high-quality standards before the materials were received on-site. This global oversight ensured that every component, from the smallest bolt to the largest steel structure, was subject to rigorous inspection upon arrival, further cementing our role in upholding the project's quality from inception to completion.
